Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Okra/Bhindi 1/2 kg
  2. 1 Onion chopped
  3. Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Garlic cloves 6 lightly crushed
  6. Dry Red chilies 2 -3
  7. Turmeric 1/4 teaspoon
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Oil 2 tablespoons
  10. Peanuts 1 tablespoon
  11. 1 sprig Curry leaves
  12. Sesame powder 1 1/2 tablespoon
  13. Red Chili powder 1/2 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Wash Okra and dry, cut into 1/2" pieces
  2. Heat Oil and splutter mustard, cumin seeds. Add curry leaves, dry red chilies, peanuts and stir fry
  3. Add chopped onion and saute till translucent. Add okra pieces, salt, turmeric and stir fry on medium heat for 5 mins. Lower the heat and fry until okra is cooked
  4. Add sesame powder and red chili powder, mix well and fry for 2-3 mins and switch off. Serve hot with rice or roti
