ABOUT Nawabi briyani RECIPE

A change from non veg biryanis with no compromise in taste.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 1/2 cups basmati rice
  2. 1 large potato
  3. 3 tbs peas ,I used frozen
  4. 1 onion sliced
  5. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  6. 500 ml water
  7. Ghee
  8. For grinding :
  9. 1/2 cup Mint leaves
  10. 2 chillies
  11. 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  12. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  13. 1/4 cup coconut milk
  14. Salt

Instructions

  1. Grind the ingredients given under " for grinding " & set aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan.
  3. Splutter cumin seeds.
  4. Add onion and potatoes.
  5. Add the ground masala.
  6. Add rice and saute for a couple of minutes.
  7. Add boiling water.
  8. Cook until 3/4 th done.
  9. Add green peas.
  10. Cook further until completely done.
  11. Serve with your favourite accompaniments.
