ABOUT Parwal Posto RECIPE

Poppy seed paste known as posto is a wonderful creamy spice used in any Bengali cuisine. Its gives a nutty aromatic flavor to any dish.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Parwal slit into four pieces 300gm
  2. Poppy paste 6tsp
  3. Yogurt 4tsp
  4. Cream 3tsp
  5. Tomato 2 pureed
  6. Onion chopped half cup
  7. Coriander leaves
  8. Salt 1tsp
  9. sugar 1tsp
  10. Mustard oil 1tsp

Instructions

  1. First heat oil in a pan and fry the parwal with salt and turmeric, once they are slightly turning brown add the chopped onions. Sautee them thoroughly. Now stir fry till cooked. Add the poppy seed paste sautee well. Add yoghurt and tomatoe puree.
  2. Keep stirring. Add green chillies and mustard oil. Keep cooking till it turns dry.
  3. Add little cream and cover the lid. Add 1tsp sugar and serve hot with rice or roti.
