ABOUT Red Apple Pulao RECIPE

Apples used in a rice recipe by me for an awesome treat. This one is made by red apples or yellow ones or both. It is a little sweet and spicy both at the same time. The most important thing is to use leftover rice in this pulao and therefore put it to a best possible use. Try this simple and instant pulao for your loved ones to show you care.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 4 cups cooked rice or leftover rice
  2. 1 tbsp salt
  3. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  4. 1/2 cup peanuts roasted
  5. 1/2 cup pistachios toasted
  6. 1/4 th cup coriander leaves chopped
  7. 3 cinnamon sticks
  8. 6 cloves
  9. 10 blackpepper corns
  10. 3 tbsp ghee or oil or butter
  11. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  12. 1/2 cup Raisins
  13. 1 tbsp cumin powder
  14. 1 TBSP RED CHILLI FLAKES
  15. 4 bird chillies
  16. 2 onions thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a cooking pot, heat ghee.
  2. Add caraway seeds, bird chillies and ginger garlic paste.
  3. Now add cumin powder and sliced onions.
  4. Saute them until light brown.
  5. Next add the rest of the whole spices and red chilli flakes.
  6. And finally the cored and cubed apple pieces.
  7. Saute all that well and simmer for 3 minutes on low heat with a lid on. Adjust salt according to taste.
  8. Now add the cooked rice or the leftover rice. Stir until well combined.
  9. Sprinkle some garam masala on top and garnish with coriander leaves, raisins, peanuts and toasted pistachios.
  10. You can use any of your favourite nuts and can use leftover rice too for this recipe.
