Crunchy deep fried dal fritters perfect for a rainy day with a karak chai.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Channa dal 2 cups
  2. Onion , finely chopped 1 big
  3. Ginger piece finely chopped 1"
  4. Green chilli finely chopped 2
  5. Few Curry leaves chopped
  6. Asafoetida 1/8 teaspoon
  7. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak channa dal for couple of hours.
  2. Drain and crush it using a food processor / mixer grinder.
  3. No water should be used to grind.
  4. Add all the remaining ingredients to the dal and mix well.
  5. Make balls out of it.
  6. Flatten the balls using your fingers.
  7. Deep fry in hot oil.
  8. Serve hot with cuppa chai.
