Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Plantain Stem 15 inch length
  2. Black gram 1 teaspoon
  3. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  4. Red chilly 1
  5. Coconut oil 1 teaspoon
  6. Curry leaves 1 sprig
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Jaggery 1 teaspoon
  9. Red chilly powder 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Grated coconut 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Remove the outer cover of plantain stem.
  2. Cut plantain stem into rounds by removing its fibre.
  3. Now finely chop them and keep aside.
  4. Take a wok, heat oil and put black gram, mustard seeds and red chilly
  5. Once spluttered put curry leaves.
  6. Now add chopped stem and add little water , salt , jaggery, red chilly powder.
  7. Cover cook in medium flame for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  8. When the water is absorbed completely by the stem, add coconut gratings.
  9. Stir for two minutes and serve with rice.
