this is traditional dadima ki recipe which is going through ages, diwali is incomplete without moong daal ka halwa, easy recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Moong dal 1 cup
  2. Almonds 1/4 cup
  3. Ghee 1 cup
  4. Sugar 1 cup
  5. Chopped dry fruits 1/4 cup
  6. Wheat flour 1 spoon
  7. Water 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Soak moong dal and almonds separately for 2-3 hours.
  2. Grind it into a paste not too smooth.
  3. Now heat a cup of ghee into a pan.
  4. Add wheat flour and saute for a minute.
  5. Add moong dal and almonds paste to it and cook, it becomes very sticky that is why we add wheat flour as helps preventing it from becoming sticky.
  6. It takes almost 30 minutes for the daal to cook into a nice golden color.
  7. Now in a another pan dissolve sugar and water, don't make chasni, just cook for 2-3minutes or until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  8. Add it to the dal and cook until it get into halwa consistency.
  9. Garnish with some chopped dry fruits and dried rose petals and serve.
