ABOUT Rice Roti / Rice Bhakri RECIPE

Rice bhakri is an authentic malvani cuisine from Konkan belt. It is a tadty healthy recipe made with rice flour. To enhance taste I have added chilly , garlic and coriander leaves.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For 2 big rotis
  2. Rice flour 1 small cup (100 grams)
  3. Water 1 & 1/4 cup (same small cup should be used)
  4. Chilly flacks 1/2 teaspoon (or 1 finely chopped red chilly )
  5. Garlic cloves 2-3 (finely chopped)
  6. Coriander leaves chopped 2 teaspoon
  7. Sugar 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Oil 1 teaspoon
  9. Salt 1/4 th teaspoon (or to taste)
  10. Butter 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take rice flourin a big bowl add water and make a smooth paste.
  2. Paste should be lumps free. Add salt and sugar. mix it.
  3. Chopp garlic , chilly and coriander leaves
  4. In a pan heat oil . Add chopped garlic, chilly and coriander leaves.
  5. Saute for 30 seconds then add rice flour paste with continuous stirring. (to avoid formation of lumps continuous stir is must)
  6. cover it and cook it for a minute or two.
  7. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  8. Now mash it and knead it to a soft dough.
  9. Divide the dough in two equal portions
  10. Take one portion round it and roll it with hands/rolling pin into a roti. Dust generous amount of rice flour to avoid sticking.
  11. roast it on a hot skillet from both the sides. Heat should be low.
  12. Same way make other roti.
  13. Transfer it into serving plate spread little butter and serve with any vegetable curry and chutney .
