ABOUT Crispy Karela (Bittergourd Fritters) RECIPE

There is only one vegetable which my daughter doesnot like,thst is buttergourd or Karela.So I have to make some different recipes using Bittergourd or karela just to feed my daughter this healthy and nutrient vegetable.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Bitter gourd-1 big (2 medium)
  2. Nigeria seeds-1/4teaspoon
  3. Besan-1/2 cup
  4. Maida or all purpose flour-2 tablespoon
  5. Rice flour-1 tablespoon
  6. Baking soda-1pinch
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Red chili powder-1/4 teaspoon
  9. Oil-1 cup
  10. Water-As required to make a thick batter using the above ingredients except oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the bitter gourd and cut into thin round shape
  2. Take a bowl,add all the ingredients except bitter gourd,oil and water
  3. Add little water gradually ,and mix with your hands to make a smooth batter make sure there is no lumps in the batter,it should not be thin or thick batter
  4. Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan
  5. Reduce the flame to medium
  6. Coat the bitter gourd rings into the batter and fry into oil on medium flame
  7. Fry both sides until golden
  8. Place on a absorbent paper
  9. Enjoy your crispy bittergourd
