Dal karela is a Bengali dish
Tasty as well as healthy.
Soak chana dal/Bengal gram for half an hour.
Add turmeric powder and one cup of water and pressure cook for 10 mins.
Chop bitter gourd/karela in a round shape and soak in the salted water for half an hour.
Strain and deep fry the bitter gourd/karela
Heat oil in a pan.
Add tomato,salt,green chilly and turmeric powder and cook till tender.
Add boiled chana dal and some water and sugar and mix well
Cook for the mins in a medium flame.
Serve hot with chapati
