Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. White Chana/Chickpea 1/2 cup
  2. Clean and washed Spinach/Palak leaves 4 cups
  3. Mustard oil/Refined oil 2 Tbsp
  4. Cumin seed/Jeera 1tsp
  5. Turmeric/Haldi 1/4 tsp
  6. Hing/Asefotida A pinch
  7. Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Ginger garlic paste 1tsp
  9. Tomatoes chopped 2 cups
  10. Lemon juice 2tbsp
  11. Garam masala 1 tsp
  12. coriander powder 1tsp
  13. salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. Clean wash and soak white chana/chickpeas overnight.
  2. Next day wash again ,add 1 1/4 cups of water Salt and pressure cook for 4-5 whistle.
  3. Heat a deep pan of water and blanch the Palak/spinach leaves in it for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Drain and blend in a mixer to smooth paste.
  5. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds,haldi,hing and ginger garlic paste.
  6. Add tomatoes and mix well.Reduce the flame and cook Until tomatoes are done.
  7. Add white chana along with Salt And cook for 3-4 minutes.
  8. Add in spinach puree cook on low heat for 7-8 minutes.
  9. Add garam masala ,Lemon juice and mix well.
  10. Serve with roti , naan or it goes well with plain rice.
