ABOUT Pharali Potato(Aloo) Subzi RECIPE

This subzi is very popular in Maharashtra, Gujarat and made during fasting. It’s very simple to make and tastes awesome. Eaten as it is or with Bhagar or sama ke chawal(barnyard millet) or with Rajgira wada, Pharali dosa.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potato (boiled, peeled, and cut them into small cubes) – 2nos
  2. Cumin seeds – 1tsp
  3. Roasted Peanuts coarsely powdered – 3tbsp
  4. Green chili coarse paste – 1-2 tbsp.
  5. Cashew nuts crushed - 1tbsp(Optional)
  6. Raisins – 1tsp(Optional)
  7. Grated Coconut – 1/4th cup
  8. Lemon juice – 1tsp
  9. Fresh ginger paste– 2tsp
  10. salt as per taste
  11. Oil – 1tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds. Let it splutter.
  2. Add green chili, ginger paste. Cook till raw aroma goes off.
  3. Add boiled, peeled, cubed potatoes, coarsely powdered roasted Peanuts, lemon juice, salt, raisins, cashew nuts. Mix well.
  4. Finally add grated fresh coconut. Mix.
  5. Serve hot.
