ABOUT Baked Vada Pav / Stuffed Aloo Buns (Party Snacks Recipe) RECIPE

now replace deep fried potato vadas by stuffed aloo buns,  no need to add extra calories, here is trick to fulfill your desires by baking stuffed Aloo Bun ( Vada Pav ). Yep! Vada pav is a very famous, tasty and all time favorite Indian food recipe. Try it by baking Vada inside the buns. Enjoy treat without worrying about deep fried oils fat.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Maida / all purpose flour 1 cup
  2. Yeast 1 tbsp
  3. Milk ¼  cup
  4. Honey 1 tbsp
  5. Salt 1 tsp
  6. Butter 2 tbsp
  7. Potato 2, boiled and mashed
  8. Green chilli 10 strips, chopped
  9. Garlic 6 cloves, minced
  10. Onion 1 small, chopped
  11. Coriander leaves 1/4 cup, chopped
  12. oil 2 tbsp
  13. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  14. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  15. Turmeric 1 tsp
  16. Salt 1 tsp
  17. Asafoetida 1 pinch

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and sieve all purpose flour then add 1 tsp salt and mix it well, keep aside.
  2. Take a ¼ cup of warm milk and add yeast 2 tbsp, 1 tbsp of honey and mix it well and keep aside for 10 minutes to rise yeast.
  3. After 10 minutes take a bowl of mixed all purpose flour, salt and butter 2 tbsp, add yeast mixture into bowl, knead to make a soft dough for about 4 to 5 minutes (if needed add minimal milk or water to make dough soft).
  4. Once dough is soft and ready then keep dough into butter coated bowl, wrap the bowl with plastic wrapper and keep it aside for 1 hour for rise.
  5. After 1 hour remove plastic wrapper and knock on dough and make it air free and remove dough from the bowl and knead for 3 to 4 minutes, then divide dough into equal parts.
  6. Meanwhile, place a pan on medium heat, add 2 tbsp veg.oil, then add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, let the mustard seeds and cumin seeds start popping & crackling.
  7. Add chopped onion, stir it well and add green chilies, garlic paste  and asafoetida and saute till the onions, green chillies and garlic darken a bit and add turmeric powder and salt stir it well.
  8. Now, add chopped, boiled potatoes, saute and mix it well for 2 to 3 minutes and garnish with coriander leaves and let it cool down.
  9. Now, take a baking tray, place aluminum foil and grease with butter and take all the balls of dough, make it flatten little bit and make stuffing ​of aloo curry divide it into 6 small balls and stuff all the buns with aloo curry balls and close it.
  10. Place all the 6 balls of dough into baking tray and cover with damp cloth to risen up for about 1 hour.
  11. After 1 hour remove cloth, coat dough balls with butter and preheat oven at 400 fahrenheit and bake buns for 15 minutes at 400 fahrenheit.
  12. Here tasty, spicy and yummy Baked Vada Pav / Stuffed Aloo Buns are ready to serve, serve it with fried green chilli or with tomato ketchup.
