This is a decadent and rich halwa made with moong dal, a perfect desert for cold winter nights.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 bowl soaked moong dal
  2. 1 bowl ghee
  3. 3/4 bowl sugar
  4. 1/2teaspoon cardamon powder
  5. 2 tabs besan
  6. 250ml milk
  7. Almonds and raisins and kaju for taste
  8. 1/2bowl khoya optional

Instructions

  1. Soak the moong dal in hot water for two hours.
  2. Rinse all the water and grind it.
  3. Heat some ghee in a heavy bottomed kadhai, after one min add dal and start to cook it. .Add more ghee if mixture is hard. Try to cook on medium flame .
  4. After 20 min its colour starts to change. If you have to check that it has roasted properly or not you can put some drop of water in it.
  5. Roast the daal mixture till the almond brown colour comes.
  6. Add sugar milk and khoya and mix it well.
  7. Add more ghee if needed.
  8. Put some almonds and raisins and mix well. Serve hot.
