ABOUT Watery mango palyam RECIPE

This is a delicious mango based side dish which is served with some steamed rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Salted watery mangoes 4
  2. I table spoon chilly powder
  3. 1/2 tea spoon cumin powder
  4. Green chilly 1
  5. 1/4 cup Jaggery
  6. 1/4 cup grated coconut
  7. salt
  8. coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. For tempering :
  10. mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  11. urad dal - 1 tsp
  12. curry leaves - 10
  13. Asafoetida - 1 /4 th tsp

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel and chop the mangoes.
  2. Temper the ingredients with little oil, as mentioned in the ingredient list.
  3. Now add mango pieces .mango seed ,salt ,jaggery and 1 and 1/2cup of water
  4. Close the lid let it be boil. Check after 5 minutes. Now cook on a low flame for 2_3 minutes.
  5. Add the grated coconut at the end, stir, check for seasoning and serve.
