Everyone's favourite restaurant style vinegar onions with a twist of Indian spices.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Pearl onions 30
  2. Sugar 1 tspn
  3. Salt 1 tspn
  4. Beetroot cubes 1/2 cup
  5. White Vinegar 1/2 cup
  6. Cloves 5-6
  7. Cumin seeds 1 tspn
  8. Cinnamon stick 1 inch
  9. Bay leaf 2
  10. Black pepper 3-4
  11. Water 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Peal onions and rinse them. Slit onions from top as shown in picture.
  2. Take a pan, heat water. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinammon, salt, sugar and beetroot cubes. Stir for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Cool the liquid completely and strain it.
  4. Pour vinegar and cooled liquid on onions.
  5. Keep onions for a day in airtight container in refrigerator.
  6. Discard the liquid afterwards and store onions in refrigerator.
  7. Consume within a week.
