Chicken Punjabi is a type of chicken curry in thick gravy with a nice spicy flavor but its not too hot.This dish is a balle balle Punjabi dish..its yummy and delecious...the taste is overwhelming.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chicken cut into pieces-750 gms
  2. Onion paste-1tblspn
  3. Onions chopped -2medium
  4. Red chilli powder-2tspn
  5. Kashmiri mirch powder-1 tblspn
  6. Ginger-garlic paste-2tblspn
  7. Turmeric powder-1tspn
  8. Coriander powder-1tspn
  9. Cumin powder-1tspn
  10. Tomato puree-1/2cup
  11. Slited green chillis-4
  12. Finely chopped coriander leaves-2tblspns
  13. Garam mashala powder-1/2tspn
  14. Oil-6tblspns
  15. Salt & sugar- as per taste

Instructions

  1. Place chicken pieces in a bowl.Add 1tspn red chilli powder, 1tblspn ginger-garlic paste,onion paste & salt;mix them well & keep aside for 1hour.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan,add chopped onions & saute till golden brown.
  3. Now,add 1tblspn ginger-garlic paste & saute till raw smell disappears.
  4. Now add marinated chicken & turn them well so that they get equally cooked from all sides.
  5. Add turmeric powder,1tspn red chilli powder,kashmiri mirch powder,coriander powder,cumin powder & mix well.
  6. Add tomato puree & saute till oil surfaces.Add slited green chillis along with salt & mix.
  7. Add 2 cups of water,cover the pan,cook for 2mins. Wait till gravy thickens.
  8. Finally add chopped coriander leaves & garam mashala powder
  9. Cover again & cook for another 2mins.
  10. Serve hot with chapati/paratha/rice.
