Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Karela 1/2 kg
  2. Onion 7-9
  3. Apple 1
  4. Dhaniya powder 2 1/2 spn
  5. Haldi 1 1/2 spn
  6. Lal mirch as taste
  7. Jeera powder 2 spn
  8. Salt as taste
  9. Amchoor powder or dry mango powder 3-4 spn or as u like taste
  10. Oil sarsoon ka tel for frying sugar 2 spoon

Instructions

  1. First cut the onion in small pieces .
  2. Then shred the apple and keep it aside.
  3. Now take a wok add oil in it 2 big spoon and when the oil gets hot add onion into it .
  4. Now fry onion in it till they turn translucent.
  5. Now add half the shredded apple in it and fry both onion and apple well.
  6. Now when you see that water of apple and onion soaked almost add all the masalas into it.
  7. Now fry them gently and now add some sugar, salt, and also amchoor powder to it.
  8. Now switch off the gas and make this material cool and taste once to check the flavour.
  9. Now take the karela and slit them from center so that their sides don't get separated .
  10. Now with the help of spoon or knife remove the seeds of karela.
  11. Now take a deep vessel and add water into it and dip the karela in that water and add some salt to it.
  12. Now remove karela from water after 1 hr,now wet all the karela with the help of cotton cloth and add the stuffing of onion and apple to it.
  13. Now take the same kadahi which we used for masala making and add oil in that and put the stuffed karela in that .
  14. Put the gas on low to bit midium flame and cook karela ,cover the kadahi with plate .And let this get cooked in steam.
  15. Trim them after every 10 to 15 min otherwise they might get burnt.
  16. When you see the karela colour turned into light brown colour and they get soft take them out from karahi ,other wise if we cook them more they get sticky .
  17. Now your karelas are ready to eat . Serve them with garma garam chapati .
