CARAMELIZED ONION BREAD .....

ABOUT CARAMELIZED ONION BREAD ..... RECIPE

This is one of my favourite recipe ........ It is soft and fluffy , the flavour of the onions brings makes you want more and more . It smells wonderful while baking and tastes incredible good .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For caramelized onion --------
  2. Onion large - 1 ( chopped or thinly sliced)
  3. Garlic clove - 4 no chopped
  4. Salt - 1teaspoon
  5. Sugar - 1teaspoon
  6. Chilli flakes - 1teaspoon
  7. Dried rosemary - 1 teaspoon
  8. For the dough -------
  9. Flour - 2 cups
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Active dry yeast - 1 1/2 teaspoon
  12. Warm water - 1 cup
  13. Olive oil - 1tablespoons

Instructions

  1. In a frying pan heat oil over medium heat add garlic and onions into it .
  2. Cook until onions and garlic soft and golden brown .
  3. Season with salt , sugar , rosemary and chilli flakes . Set aside to cool .
  4. In a bowl add activated yeast , sugar and mix with little bit of water and mix well , leave 2 - 3 minutes until foamy .
  5. In a large bowl mix the flour with salt , dissolved the fresh yeast and add the flour mixture . Add the rest of the water and mix everything together and knead a smooth dough .
  6. Cover the dough with a damp cloth for half an hour at room temperature to rise until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the dough and flour a surface . Knead the dough for a few rotations and form it back into a ball, press them and roll out place all the caramelized onion mixture in the centre , dampen the edges , brings them together and press to seal .
  8. Press slightly and roll into small flat bread ensuring that the filling is evenly spread .
  9. Grease a baking tray , place the onions bread in it , brush them with a little Olive oil and bake in the preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes or till the bread are golden brown in colour.
  10. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve with Tea or Coffee ...........
