ABOUT FRUIT DHOKLA RECIPE

Dhokla layered with fruits and curd dressing. À must try recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For Dhokla ::
  2. Gram flour 3/4 cup
  3. Rawa 1/4 cup
  4. Buttermilk 1+1/4 cup
  5. Salt 1 tesp
  6. Sugar 3 tesp
  7. Turmeric powder 1/4 tesp
  8. Citric acid 1/4 tesp
  9. Oil 1 tbsp
  10. Eno powder 1tesp/ 1 sachet
  11. For curd dressing ::
  12. Hung curd 3/4 cup
  13. Salt a pinch
  14. Powder sugar 2 tesp
  15. Kewra essence few drops
  16. Sliced mixed fruits 1 cup

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl take gram flour and rawa.
  2. Add buttermilk to this and make a thick batter of flowing consistency.
  3. Prepare the steamer to steam dhokla.
  4. Add salt, sugar, turmeric powder and citric acid to the batter. Mix well.
  5. Add Eno salt to the batter and mix well.
  6. Grease two dhokla plates nicely and divide the batter equally in both plates. ( mine are of 6" diameter)
  7. Put the plates in steamer.
  8. Steam dhokla for 10 minutes.
  9. Switch off the flame and remove dhokla plates. Let them to cool down to room temperature.
  10. Prepare curd dressing.
  11. Take hung curd in a mixing bowl. Add salt and sugar. Mix well.
  12. Add kewra essence. Mix.
  13. Slice fruits of the choice.
  14. Demould dhokla from both plates.
  15. In a plate place one dhokla sheet.
  16. Spread curd dressing over it.
  17. Arrange fruits slices over curd dressing. I used plums, banana and melon.
  18. Cover with other dhokla sheet.
  19. Put some curd dressing on top in center. Arrange chopped fruits on it.
  20. Decorate with coriander leaves and serve.
