ABOUT Crispy Honey Chilli Potatoes RECIPE

A perfect Chinese flavoured starter which is crisp outside and soft inside. A drizzle of honey makes it more delectable. I have added onion and capsicum for that extra crunch and enhanced flavors.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 5 medium potatoes , cut into fingers , soaked in water
  2. 1 small capsicum chopped
  3. 1 small onion chopped
  4. 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  5. 5 tbsp corn starch
  6. Oil for Deep frying
  7. 2 spring onions greens, finely chopped
  8. 1 tsp safed til/Sesame seeds roasted
  9. For the red sauce
  10. 1 tsp olive oil
  11. 6 garlic cloves chopped finely
  12. 2 tsp Vinegar
  13. 1 tsp soy sauce
  14. 1 tsp dry red chilli flakes
  15. 1 tsp red chilli sauce
  16. Salt to taste
  17. 1 tsp sugar(optional)
  18. 2 tbsp organic honey

Instructions

  1. Firstly drain the potato fingers and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. Now transfer them into a large bowl and add garlic paste, cornflour and salt and mix gently.
  3. Heat oil in a wok and deep fry potato fingers till crisp and golden in colour.
  4. Drain on an absorbent paper and keep aside.
  5. Heat oil in a wok, add garlic and sauté for a minute on high flame.
  6. Add chopped onions and capsicum sauté for a minute on high flame.
  7. Add red chilli flakes, red chilli sauce, soy sauce and vinegar and stir well.
  8. Add honey, sugar and salt and Stir well till well blended.
  9. Combine the fried potato fingers and prepared sauce and mix well.
  10. Add the sesame seeds and mix again.
  11. Do the plating and serve hot garnished with sesame seeds and spring onion greens.
  12. Enjoy
