A very popular starter among vegetarians, this dish is so easy and can be made in no time.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potatoes- 4, cut into thin strips
  2. Maida/ Flour- 2 tbsp
  3. Corn flour - 2 tbsp
  4. Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  5. Green chilli sauce - 1 tsp
  6. Red chilli sauce - 1 tsp
  7. Soy sauce - 1 tsp
  8. Onion - 1, finely chopped
  9. Capsicum, finely chopped - 2 tbsp
  10. Spring onion, finely chopped - 1 tbsp
  11. Garlic, finely chopped - 2 tsp
  12. Ginger, finely chopped - 1 tsp
  13. Honey - 2 tbsp
  14. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  15. Salt to taste
  16. Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the maida, corn flour, salt, pepper and the potatoes. Sprinkle a little and mix well. Leave it for a couple of minutes.
  2. Heat enough oil in a pan and fry the potatoes until they are crisp and golden.
  3. In another pan, heat a little oil, and add the ginger-garlic and green chillies. Add the finely chopped onions, a handful of the spring onions, capsicum and saute on a high flame for a minute.
  4. To this, add a tsp of red chilli powder, a teaspoon of red chilli sauce, green chilli sauce, soy sauce and vinegar each and mix it well.
  5. Next, add in 2 tbsp of corn starch to this, 2 tbsp of honey and salt. Mix it well on a high flame.
  6. Add the fried potatoes to this, give it a quick toss and take it off the heat.
  7. Garnish with spring onions, a generous sprinkle of white sesame seeds and serve it hot.
