ABOUT Mango Upside Down Cake RECIPE

Yummy , Soft Tea cake made with Fresh Mangoes.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour 1 cup or 200 gms
  2. Brown sugar 150 gms + 4 tsp
  3. Melted butter or canola oil 100 gms
  4. Baking powder 1/2 tsp
  5. Milk 1/2 cup or 1 egg [room temperature]
  6. Mango [cut in cubes] 1 cup
  7. Vanilla extract or mango essence 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour ,baking powder in a big bowl.
  2. Add oil , sugar and milk or egg together to form a pasty mix.
  3. Whisk well until everything is combined.
  4. Now add the flour mix into the above wet mixture.
  5. Now prepare a square or round baking pan , put 2 tsp butter , grease it well.
  6. Dust with enough sugar , so that it would caramelize the fresh mangoes.
  7. Now arrange the mango pieces in a pattern to cover the bottom of the baking tray.
  8. Pour the prepared batter carefully on top of the arranged mangoes.
  9. Preheat oven for 10-15 mins in 180 degrees centigrade.
  10. Now bake the cake for 40-45 mins .
  11. Continue to check with toothpick , after completing 35 mins , if it comes clean then remove the cake , if not continue to bake until done.
  12. Cut in pieces once the cakes is cooled down completely
  13. Serve with tea.
