ABOUT Sooji Dhokla RECIPE

Semolina dhokla that is light and healthy.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 Cup - Semolina
  2. 1 Cup - Yogurt
  3. 1 tsp - Ginger chilli paste
  4. Salt - to taste
  5. 1 tsp - ENO fruit salt
  6. Water as required
  7. 8-10 - Curry leaves
  8. 1/2 tsp - Mustard seeds
  9. 1/4 tsp - Cumin
  10. 1/4 tsp - Sesame seeds
  11. Pinch of aesofoetida
  12. Pinch of turmeric
  13. oil

Instructions

  1. Mix semolina, yogurt, ginger=chilli paste, turmeric, salt and make a batter by adding water as per requirement.
  2. Add ENO and immediately mix for 15 second.
  3. Grease the mould with oil . Steam the batter for 15 minutes. Prick with a toothpick to check if the dhokla is done. If it comes out clean dhokla is ready. Cool for 10 minutes.
  4. For tempering : Heat oil in a pan, add asafoetida, mustard seeds and cumin. When it starts to splutter add curry leaves and slit green chilies. Spread the seasoning on dhokla and garnish with chopped Cilantro. Cut it into square shape serve with chutney.
