Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Gram flour - 1 Cup
  2. Onion, finally chopped - 1
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Green chilli - 1
  5. 1 tsp - Coriander leaves, finely chopped
  6. 1 tsp - Mint leaves, finely chopped
  7. 1/2 tsp - Carom seeds
  8. 1 Cup- Water
  9. 2 tsp - Oil
  10. 1/2 tsp - Zeera
  11. 1/4 tsp - Asafoetida
  12. Roti : Wheat flour - 1 Cup
  13. Salt as per taste
  14. Warm water for binding dough

Instructions

  1. In a bowl take gram flour, ad onions, salt, green chilies, carom seeds and mix. Add water slowly to make a lump free batter.
  2. Heat oil in a deep pan. Add zeera, asafoetida, curry leaves and the prepares batter.
  3. Keep stirring on low flame till it absorbs the extra water and looks like a semi soft dough. Add coriander and mint leaves. Turn off the gas. The pitla is ready.
  4. To make chapti, take wheat flour salt in mixing bowl, add salt and kneed a dough with little warm water.
  5. Take small portions of dough , make into a ball, dust with dry wheat flour and roll into a circular shape with rolling pin.
  6. Heat a tawa and cook the chapatis from both sides.
  7. Apply ghee and serve with pitla.
