ABOUT Namkeen Ajwaini Katli RECIPE

Besan ki katli is basically a namkeen burfi. This is a quick and no fry healthy snack.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 Cups - Besan
  2. 4 Cups - Water
  3. 1tsp - Salt
  4. Red chilly powder - to taste
  5. 2 Whole red chilies, finely slit
  6. A pinch of asafoetida
  7. 1/2 tsp - Ajwain (carom seeds)
  8. 4 tsp - Oil 2 tsp - Ghee
  9. For garnish - 2 tbs Chopped coriander leaves
  10. 2 tsp - red chilli oil for tadka
  11. Red chilies slit and curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Mix besan and water to make a batter.
  2. In a pan heat ghee, add asafoetida, ajwain, curry leaves and 2 red chilies, finely slit. Reserve half of this for garnish then add water-besan mixture in the pan, stirring constantly to avoid any lumps. Add salt and chilli powder and mix well.
  3. Cook for about 5-8 minutes or until besan is cooked and thick enough to set.
  4. Grease a thali and set the mixture in it. Garnish with coriander leaves, chilli oil for tadka,,red chilies and curry leaves.
  5. When cool cut into diamonds shape and serve.
