Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Whole Moth dal 1 cup
  2. Chopped onion 1
  3. Tomatoes 3 (puree)
  4. Ghee 2 tablespoon
  5. Red chilli powder 1 tea spoon
  6. Coriander powder 1 tea spoon
  7. Cumin seeds 1/2 tea spoon
  8. Khatta masala( amchur, mirch, salt ) 1 &1/2 tea spoon
  9. Fennel powder 1/4 tea spoon
  10. Garam masala 1/2 tea spoon
  11. 1 &1/2 -2 glass water
  12. Boiled rice 1 cup
  13. 1/2 tea spoon turmeric
  14. Pinch of Kasuri methi
  15. Salt to taste
  16. Coriander for garnishing
  17. For Kachori:
  18. Maida 1 cup
  19. Melted ghee 2 tablespoon
  20. Ajwain 1/4 spoon
  21. A pinch of cooking soda
  22. Oil for frying
  23. For filling masala - 1 tsp fennel, 1tsp cumin seeds 1/2 tsp ajwain, red chilli powder
  24. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the beans in water for 5-6 hours
  2. After 5-6 hours put the beans in cooker and add water and salt to it
  3. After 1-2 whistles, cook it for 15 minutes on a low flame. keep it aside
  4. Take a pan and add ghee, cumin seeds, fennel seed powder and coriander powder to it
  5. Add onions once they become golden brown add tomato puree in it.
  6. Add red chilli powder
  7. Add the boiled dal and cook for 5-7 minutes on a low flame
  8. Add garam masala powder , Khatta masala and Kasuri methi
  9. Cook it for 5 minutes and the Dal Moth is ready
  10. Take the boiled rice and make it in two parts
  11. Let one part remain as it is and in the other portion the rice is put in a wok and Add ghee in it. Add some cumin seeds and turmeric powder so that the rice gets a yellow colour
  12. Take a layer of white rice and put some masala onions
  13. Next, comes the Moth curry
  14. Above the delicious curry are the yellow rice and again put some curry followed by a layer of white rice
  15. Sprinkle some Khatta masala for taste
  16. Garnish with onions and green chilli
  17. For Kachori:
  18. In a bowl put maida, ghee, Ajwain and soda
  19. Prepare a dough with luke warm water and keep it aside covered with a muslin cloth for half an hour
  20. Prepare some masala with fennel, cumin seeds and ajwain, red chillies roast it and grind it
  21. Now roll the maida and fill some masala and salt
  22. Roll it in the shape of kachori
  23. Heat the oil and fry the kachoris on low flame
  24. Serve the mouth watering Moth Chawal kachori as you like
  25. Serve with exotic Jaljeera and salad
