ABOUT Curd stuffed Gujiya or Karanji (Famous chaat item from North India) RECIPE
This is my mother's recipe. Not so common, but really yummy form of North Indian chaat ........ Dahi Gujiya. My mother usually makes it on Holi and Diwali. so here the recipe of gujiya...enjoy it.

Ingredients Serving: 10
2 cups- Urad Dal
1 1/2 tsp- salt
For Stuffing- 3-4 tbsp Coconut powder
8-10- finely chopped cashews
1 tbsp- black pepper powder
For making chaat-
1 cup - curd beaten
1/2 cup - green chutney
1/2 cup- sweet chutney
red chilli powder (optional)
roasted cumin powder as required
salt- as required
papdi or any other Namkeen
chaat masala (for sprinkling on top)
oil for deep frying
ziploc bag to make gujiyas
Instructions
Soak the dal for 4 hours,strain excess water and grind the dal in a grinder.
Beat the batter in a bowl well for 12-15 mins to make it fluffy. Add salt in the batter and mix well.
Open ziploc bag, put som water on the plastic with the help of fingers. Take small ball of dal and put it on plastic.Spread it with the help of wet fingers.
Put 2-3 cashew pieces, little bit of coconut powder, a pinch of black pepper powder on one side of gujiyas and fold the gujiya by flipping the ziploc bag, press gently over the gujiyas so the edges close.
Now flip the ziploc bag, take the gujiya on your hand and put it in the oil for frying. Fry the gujiya on medium gas until it become light brown in colour. Gujiya is ready.
Before eating it, take warm water in a big bowl and soak the gujiyas for an hour.Take it out from the bowl, press with hands to strain water from it. Repeat this process with remaining gujiyas.
Dip each ghujiya into dahi or curd. Put some green chutney, sweet chutney, roasted cumin powder, salt, red chili powder, and papdi over it.
Sprinkle some chaat Masala over it. Dahi Gujiya chaat is ready to serve.
