ABOUT Rajasthai Style Medu Vada RECIPE

Fusion of Rajasthan and South India.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Moth lentil 1 cup
  2. Green mung lentil 1 cup
  3. Split black gram 1/4 cup
  4. Parboiled rice 1/4 cup
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. Fresh Coconut 1/2 cup
  7. Green chillies 5
  8. Curry leaves 2 tablespoons chopped
  9. Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  10. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Collect all lentils and parboiled rice in a plate.
  2. Wash properly and soak for 4 hours in water.
  3. Strain from the water.
  4. Grind lentils - rice mix with green chillies in a grinder jar.
  5. Add curry leaves, salt, crush coconut and black pepper powder.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Heat oil in a wok.
  8. Take 1 big spoon mixture into palm and to give a shape of a vada with help of water.
  9. Fry vada in hot oil on medium flame.
  10. Turn vadas occassionlly till red.
  11. Transfer vada on a tissue paper. Excess oil will be remove.
  12. Serve vada with coconut chutney of south India and red garlic chutney of Rajasthan.
  13. This will be combination of both states.
  14. Enjoy with tea!!
