Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green Peas - 2 cups fresh or frozen
  2. Paneer - 250 grams
  3. Tomato - 2-3 medium size
  4. Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
  5. Green Chillies - 2-3
  6. Yoghurt - 3-4 tablespoon
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
  9. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  10. Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  12. Kitchen King Masala - 1/2 teaspoon ( optional)
  13. Cumin Seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  14. Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
  15. salt as per taste
  16. Oil - 1-2 tablespoon
  17. Coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. If using dried peas blanch it in boiling water for 5-10 mins.Strain and wash in cold water and keep aside.
  2. Meanwhile grind tomatoes, ginger and green chillies to paste.Also dice the paneer into cubes and keep aside.
  3. Now heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan on medium heat. Add the paneer cubes and fry for 2-3mins. Remove and transfer the cubes in a bowl of water.This way paneer will remain soft and not turn chewy.
  4. Now in the same pan add more oil if required.Temper cumin seeds and asafoetida.Add the prepared tomato paste and let it simmer in low heat with stirring in between.
  5. Mean while in a bowl add yoghurt and all the dry spices except salt and garam masala.Mix well by adding some water.
  6. Add this yoghurt mixture to the pan and cook for another 5 mins or till oil separates.
  7. Now blanched peas, salt as per taste and 1/2 cup of water.( Use the same water in which paneer was soaked) .Cover and cook for 15-20 mins or till peas are completely cooked.
  8. Finally add the fried paneer cubes along with garam masala and mix well.Cover and cook for another 2-3 mins.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with roti/ rice.
