Soak daals for 30 minutes. Here are the daals I used.
Take them in pressure cooker and add about 3 cups water and cook for 3 whistles.
Take ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds on heating. Add asafoetida and ginger garlic chilli paste.
Saute for 30 seconds and add chopped onions.
Saute till onions become translucent. Add tomatoes.
Cover and cook for a minute till tomatoes become mushy.
Now add dry spices like turmeric, chilli powder, salt, garam masala.
Mix properly. Add the cooked daal. Adjust consistency of daal to medium.
Add lemon juice and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
Garnish with coriander and serve hot with pulkas, jeera rice etc.
