ABOUT Lanka Rai (Green chillies in mustard curd gravy) RECIPE

This is a innovative version of traditional dish Dahi machha or curd fish. This dish is hot and tangy. We love this dish with our traditional 'Pakhala' or water rice. Sweetness of onion and tangy taste of tomatoes give a twist to the dish.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Green chillies- 25
  2. Chopped onion- 1/2 cup
  3. Chopped tomatoes- 1/2 cup
  4. Thick curd- 1 cup
  5. Mustard- 1 tbsp+ 1 tsp
  6. Garlic- 5 cloves
  7. Mustard oil- 2 tbsp
  8. Curry leaves- a few

Instructions

  1. Slit the green chillies.
  2. Take 1 tbsp mustard seeds and garlic make a smooth paste by adding water.
  3. Mix beaten curd, mustard paste ,chopped tomatoes ,onions, green chillies,1 tbsp mustard oil,salt well.
  4. Put in a microwave and microwave it for 10 minutes. Give 5 minutes standing time.
  5. Heat mustard oil, add remaining mustard seeds add curry leaves. Add this to the chilli mixture.
