ABOUT Malpua With Kheer RECIPE

Desserts has a very special place in any cuisine. They play a very important part in our food culture. No dinner is complete without a tasty dessert. Every cuisine has some special desserts for every occasion . In northern parts of India Malpuas and Rabri have a special place. Here I am giving a simple recipe for malpuas, you can eat it as it is or with rice Kheer or rabri.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Flour- 1cup
  2. Suji- 1/2cup
  3. Sugar- 1cup
  4. Milk2 cups
  5. Fennel seeds-1/4 tsp
  6. Pistachios and almonds chopped- 2 tbsp
  7. Desi ghee for frying
  8. Rabri or kheer to serve with

Instructions

  1. Take a thick bottomed pan, add milk and sugar. Put this on a medium flame. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring all the time. Let it cool and add flour, suji (semolina) and fennel seeds. Mix to a smooth batter. Let it rest for half an hour.
  2. Take a non sick pan and put it on medium slow fire. Pour 3tbsps of desi ghee, stir the batter and mix well, adjust the consistency. If it becomes too thick add little milk, pour a ladle full in the pan and shallow fry both the sides.
  3. Fry till crisp and golden brown. Remove on a paper napkin. Fry all the malpuas like this.
  4. Serve the malpuas with rabri (thickened milk). You can serve these with rice Kheer also. Sprinkle a lot of chopped almonds and pistachios. I served it with kheer.

Hi Prabal, which flour to be used?. It looks delicious to have it with or without kheer.
