ABOUT Banana Fritters (gulgule) RECIPE

Easy sweet cum snack recipe which is commonly made but tastes unusual with the addition of bananas.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  2. 3 ripe bananas
  3. 1 cup fine sugar
  4. 1/2 tsp fennel seeds (moti saunf)
  5. 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  6. 1 tbsp chironji or chiroli
  7. Half cup milk or as required
  8. 1 pinch nutmeg powder
  9. 1/2 tspn cinnamon powder
  10. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  11. 1 tablespoon warm oil
  12. Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  1. First of all mash the ripe bananas thoroughly with a fork or a masher.
  2. Now take a big bowl and combine all the dry ingredients in it.
  3. Add milk and warm oil and gradually mix using your hand and make a thick batter.
  4. It should not be too runny or too thick, if required add some water for a proper consistency
  5. Now heat the oil in a deep pan.
  6. When the oil becomes hot lower the heat to medium.
  7. Now with the help of a teaspoon or with your fingers drop gulgule batter into the hot oil.
  8. Fry them on medium flame until they are golden brown turning them carefully from time to time.
  9. Take out on absorbent paper. Serve hot.
  10. They can be stored in an air tight container when cool. Enjoy.
