One of the popular snack items of Bihar....... This is the easiest and most scrumptious finger food I ever wanted to have any time.. This simple recipe , soulful food is dedicated to my Dearest Friend, Priya Dayal.. :bride_with_veil:

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Poha/chiwda(flattened rice) - 100 gm
  2. Matar (green peas) - 200gm
  3. Ginger - 2 tbsp [finely chopped]
  4. Green chillies - 2,3 chopped
  5. Onions - 1 large [thin sliced]
  6. Garlic - 2 cloves minced (optional)
  7. Jeera - 1Tsp
  8. Hing - 1/2 Tsp
  9. Lemon juice - 2 tsp
  10. Mustard oil - as required
  11. Chat masala - 1tsp
  12. Garam masala 1- tsp
  13. Haldi [turmeric] powder - 1/2 Tsp
  14. Salt to taste
  15. coriander leaves
  16. Black salt - 1/4 tsp optional

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan and dry roast the Chiwda.. Take it aside.
  2. Heat oil in the same pan, add hing, jeera and splutter them. Add garlic, onions and saute till they turn Golden brown, put green peas in it.
  3. Add salt , haldi and garam masala mix all well. Sprinkle 2,3 spoons of water .. Cover it and let them cook for 7-8 minutes on low flame or until peas become soft.Now it&'s time to incorporate both the ingredients in Chiwda and Matar ,, also add chopped ginger, green chillies and give them a good mix.
  4. Roast them for a few more minutes, add lemon juice and stir continuously. Sprinkle chat masala and black salt with some fresh coriander leaves. You can adjust spices more or less according to your taste. This is ready to be served.
