ABOUT Mackerel Tawa Fry RECIPE

Mackerel Fish is marinated in fresh grounded masala paste and tawa fried. Simple recipe, doesn't takes much time and taste awesome.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Mackerel Fish - 4 pieces of big fish
  2. Ginger - 1 inch
  3. Garlic - 4-5 cloves
  4. Peppercorns - 1 tsp
  5. Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  7. Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
  8. Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  9. Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Lemon juice - 2 tsp
  12. Coconut Oil - 3-4 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take the fish and make slashes on both sides. Keep aside in a mixing bowl.
  2. Take all the ingredients in a blender except oil, lemon juice and fish. Make it into a fine paste by adding very little water.
  3. Add the lemon juice and mix nicely.
  4. Pour this mixture over the fish, mix nicely and rub it all over the fish and in the slashes too. Keep this to marinate for atleast 30 mins.
  5. Drizzle the coconut oil in a tawa. Layer the fish in the hot oil.
  6. Fry on low medium heat till golden on both sides and the fish is cooked completely which will take 10-15 mins approx.
  7. Drain and you can serve with onions, slit Green chillies and lemon slices.
