It is very popular dish in West Bengal.Here prawns cooked with potato and cauliflower. It goes well with hot steamed rice.
Never though of this! But I think prawns will go well with sabji too!
Clean and wash the prawns
Mix prawns with salt and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Heat oil in a wok
Add prawns,fry them until light brown
Remove the prawns from wok and keep them aside
Add cauliflower in the same oil and fry them until light red brown colour
Remove from wok and keep them aside
Add potatoes and fry them until light brown colour
Remove the potatoes from heat and keep them aside
Add bay leaf,cinnamon and cardamon in the oil
Add chopped onions and fry until golden brown
In the meanwhile take a cup and add ginger, garlic paste,1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder,cumin and red chili powder and mix all with little bit water
Add this paste in the wok,fry until raw smell of massa goes away
Add chopped tomatoes, fry until oil get separated from oil, add salt
Add fried cauliflower and potatoes, mix well with masala and cook for 2 minutes
Add 1 cup water,bring it boil,when the water will start boiling ,cover with lid and simmer the gas.
Cook until vegetables are well cooked, add fried prawns ,cook for 2 minutes. Switch off the gas Add ghee and mix well.Cover with lid.
Serve hot with plain rice.
