In Oriya we are call it "Gahama kheeri", my mother makes this dish every Sunday when every member of our joint family are present. We all enjoy this mouthwatering dish. Must Try!!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat - 1 cup
  2. Sugar - 3 tbs
  3. Coconut milk - 4 cups
  4. Cardamom - 2 nos
  5. Ghee -2 tbs
  6. Cashewnut -10 nos fried
  7. Raisin - 10 nos
  8. Norengud - 2 tbs
  9. Cloves - 4 nos
  10. Milk - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Clean wheat ,wash two to three times with water. Then soak overnight . Drain and grind into a coarse paste . Heat ghee add wheat paste and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
  2. Add coconut milk to it and cook stirring continuously. Then add milk , sugar ,cardamom & clove ,mix till it gets dissolved .
  3. Then add jaggery (norengud) fried cashew nuts and raisins . Cook till it is thick but of pouring consistency . Serve hot or cold.
