Bread Medu vada can be made instantly and served with sambhar, chutney or sauce.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Bread slices : 5
  2. Curd : 3/4 Cup
  3. Rice flour : 1/2 cup
  4. Sooji : 1/4 Cup
  5. Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
  6. Onion : 1 Finely chopped
  7. Chopped green chilly : 2
  8. Chopped coriander leaves 1/4 cup
  9. Curry Leaves : 6-7
  10. Salt as per taste
  11. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Crumble bread in a large bowl.
  2. Add rice flour, sooji, curd, onion, coriander leaves, curry leaves, cumin seeds and salt.
  3. Mix well to form dough. If dough seems hard you may add little water to make a smooth dough.
  4. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
  5. Take a small ball of dough. Gently press it between your palms to form a vada (donut shape). Make a hole in the middle.
  6. Heat oil in a kadai / pan. Fry vadas on both sides until it turns golden brown. Fry on medium flame.
  7. Drain these on a paper towel. Serve hot vadas with tomato sauce, chutney or sambhar.
