ABOUT Sattu Paratha RECIPE

A delicious filling inside. Wonderful to eat with pickles or any vegetable side dish.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For stuffing of parathas
  2. 1cup roasted Chana dal powder (sattu)
  3. 2 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
  4. 5 Cloves garlic, chopped fine
  5. 2 medium sized onions, finely chopped
  6. 1 inch piece ginger, grated
  7. 3 green chillies, chopped
  8. 3 tbsp - coriander leaves, chopped
  9. 1 stuffed red chilli pickle filling
  10. 1 piece of mango pickle with masala
  11. 1/2 tsp - ajwain
  12. 2 tbsp - Lime juice
  13. Salt to taste
  14. 2 tbsp - Mustard oil
  15. For atta dough
  16. 2 cups- Wheat flour
  17. 1/4 tsp - Salt
  18. 2 tbsp- oil/ghee
  19. Oil for shallow frying the parathas.

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients with roasted chana dal and add one or two tablespoon water to make the stuffing moist.
  2. Knead wheat flour, ghee, salt and required amount of water to make a soft dough out of it.
  3. Divide the dough into portions and fill with the prepared filling and seal well. Make a ball and repeat the same with the other dough portions.
  4. Then roll out the paratha
  5. On medium flame, heat a tawa and cook the parathas by applying oil evenly till both sides are cooked, and are golden brown in colour.
  6. Serve it hot with baingan ka bharta, curd and pickle.. This is a traditional accompaniment , but it may also be eaten with any vegetable ( subzi ).
