ABOUT Kala Jamun with Almond Stuffing RECIPE

Kala Jamun is a very famous dessert served on festive occasions like diwali. It is more similar to gulab jamun. This delicious dessert is prepared with Khowa and paneer.

Ingredients Serving: 12

  1. Khowa (Soft) - 200 grams
  2. Fresh paneer - 100 grams
  3. Maida - 3 tablespoon
  4. Milk - 1 Tablespoon
  5. Oil - for frying
  6. Almonds - few
  7. Sugar - 300 Grams
  8. Water - 1.5 to 2 cups
  9. Cardamom Powder - 1 teaspoon
  10. Rose Water - 1 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take 200 grams of soft khowa also called as hariyali khowa in a bowl and mash it with your hands without any lumps.
  2. Grate the fresh paneer well.
  3. Add the paneer, maida to the khowa bowl. Add milk and gently mix well to make a dough. Do not knead, just gently mix well together to form a dough. If you need, you can add more milk for the dough.
  4. Make small balls out of the dough with your palm lightly. Stuff the almond inside and roll it into Oval shape gently with your palm. Keep it aside.
  5. In a pan add sugar and water and heat it on a low medium flame. Stir the mixture to dissolve the sugar.
  6. When the sugar is dissolved and starts boiling, add 1 teaspoon of milk to remove the dust.
  7. When the syrup comes to 1/2 string consistency, add cardamom powder and rose water and switch off the flame.
  8. Heat oil in a pan and drop the jamuns one by one. Fry it in a low flame ao that it gets fried evenly.
  9. When the jamuns becomes brown in color, remove it and add to the hot sugar syrup.
  10. Let it soak in sugar syrup for 3 hours. Then you can serve it.
