Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup Wheat Flour
  2. 1 cup maida
  3. 2 cups sugar
  4. 1/4 cup ghee
  5. 1 Cup water
  6. Sesame seeds and Chopped pistachios n chopped almonds for garnishing
  7. Dried rose petals for garnishing
  8. Ghee for frying
  9. Cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix wheat flour, maida and ghee. Sesame seeds n little water to make a semi soft dough
  2. Divide the dough into equal small parts and flatten each ball to make Mathari shape. It should be little thick. Make all Mathari's of equal size.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan for frying the Matharis in a medium flame. Deep fry all the matharis till golden brown. Keep aside to cool.
  4. In other pan add sugar and water to make sugar syrup. It should be of 2 string consistency. Boil it till 2 string consistency. keep the syrup warm and dip the fried Santa's (matharis) quickly in the sugar syrup one at a time.
  5. Place little cardamom powder, chopped nuts and rose petals for individual Santa on a greased thali. Place each Santa over cardamom powder and nuts. Cool the Santas. The Sugar syrup will get coated on the Santas.
