ABOUT Eggxotic Cole Au Gratin RECIPE

Eggxotic cole au gratin is a must try easy-to-make delicious and nutritious breakfast recipe for kids. It is a good source of protein and fiber, is low on fat, and cole (cabbage) makes it rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Kids love egg and cheese which are full of protein, but are fussy in eating vegetables, so this is a good way to make them eat these. You can add other vegetables also, such as carrot, peas, spinach etc to add to its iron, vitamin A and calcium content. Not only kids, adults will also love this dish.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3-4 Eggs
  2. 1/2 Cabbage, shredded
  3. 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
  4. 2 tbsp Milk
  5. 3-4 Bread slices
  6. 1 tsp freshly ground Black Pepper
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 1 cup grated cheese (you can adjust according to your taste)
  9. Oil/butter for greasing

Instructions

  1. Grease a baking dish with oil or butter. Preheat oven to 200 degree C. This may take about 10 minutes.
  2. Now in a seperate bowl, add chopped cabbage or mixed veg. Mix mayonnaise and season with black pepper and salt. If you find the mixture to be little dry then add some milk to the mixture.
  3. Beat egg in a seperate bowl and season with pepper and salt.
  4. Tear the slices of bread and spread the pieces on the greased dish. Add the mixture of cabbage on the layer of bread. Sprinkle some cheese. Pour the egg mixture. Again, spread some pieces of bread. Add remaining mixture of cabbage and again, a layer of sprinkle cheese and the remaining egg mixture. Sprinkle some grated cheese on top.
  5. Bake at 200 degree C for 30-40 minutes or till the egg is set.
