Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Black chana 1 cup
  2. Red chilli 4
  3. Mustard 1/2 tsp
  4. Coconut oil 1 tbsp
  5. Asafoetida - A Pinch
  6. Grated coconut for garnishing
  7. Coriander leaves for garnishing
  8. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak black chana overnight or in hot water for 4-5 hours.
  2. Pressure cook for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Take a kadai. Heat oil. Add mustard. When mustard crackles, add red chilli, boiled chana and salt.
  4. Add little water and bring to boil. Cook covered in a low flame.
  5. Once the chana is cooked and blends with other ingredients. Switch off the flame.
  6. Sprinkle asafoetida powder and cover the lid for 2 minutes to retain the aroma.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut.
