Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Black chana or kala chana or black chickpeas about 2 cups soaked in enough water for about 6 hours.
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Onions 2 large, finely chopped
  4. Chana masala 1 tbsp
  5. Pav bhaji masala 1 tsp
  6. Black salt 1/4 tsp
  7. Asafoetida a pinch
  8. Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  9. Green chillies finely chopped 2 tbsp
  10. Coriander finely chopped a small bunch
  11. Lemon juice 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Boil the chickpeas with some salt and keep aside. Do not overboil.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai
  3. Saute the onions and all the other masalas along with the chickpeas.
  4. Cover and simmer on medium heat stirring in between for about 6 to 7 minutes.
  5. Garnish with coriander, green chillies and with a dash of lemon juice.
  6. Serve piping hot.
