ABOUT Kheer (Rice Pudding) RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Whole Milk 2 litres
  2. Condensed milk 1 can
  3. Basmati Rice 100 gms
  4. Sugar 100 gms
  5. Cashew 50 gms ground to a paste with little milk
  6. Cardamom 4-5
  7. Almonds for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice in water for 10 minutes.
  2. Boil the milk with cardamom seeds and add rice. Cook on a low flame. Keep stirring occasionally to avoid it from sticking to the base of the pan.
  3. When the milk appears to be thick, add the condensed milk, sugar and mix well.
  4. Add the cashew paste and mix well.
  5. Cook for five more minutes and then transfer to a serving dish.
  6. Garnish with almonds. Refrigerate and serve cold.
