Soak the rice for 5-6 hours or overnight. Also melt the jaggery and make 1 cup of it.
Combine the soaked rice, cooked rice, jaggery water, cardamom, coconut, baking soda and salt until it forms a smooth batter.
Heat a frying pan, fry in the shallots, coconut pieces and cumin in ghee. Then mix this mixture with the rice batter.
Pour it into a tray which can be placed inside a cooker. Make sure to remove the whistle and cook this batter for 10-15 mins.
Poke the final product with a toothpick to check if it's cooked or not.
Your cake is ready!
