Soak the urad dal in water for 2 hours. Then soak the dry mango chunk in a cup of water too.
Wash and grind the urad dal to form a nice thick paste with some salt. Keep it aside.
Take a kadai, add some oil to heat. Then add the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Next add the grounded masala paste and stir fry for a minute. Then add in the mango chunks with the soaked water.
Stir fry for this for a few minutes, then add 5 to 6 cups of water and salt to taste.
Let it come to a boil, while it's boiling add small lumps of the urad batter into the curry. Let it simmer and cook for a while.
Take out a wadi and check if it's cooked from the inside. Adjust the salt as per taste.
Serve it with hot steamed rice.
