ABOUT Kothmir wadi RECIPE

This is a very traditional and tasty snack.It can be done in a jiffy with all easily available ingredients.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Besan /gram flour 1 cup
  2. Rice flour 2 table spoons
  3. Coriander leaves minced 1 cup
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Ginger green chilly paste 1 tea spoon
  6. Chilly powder 1 tea spoon
  7. Garam masala 1 tea spoon
  8. Roasted sesame seeds 1 tea spoon
  9. Turmeric 1/4 tea spoon
  10. Oil 2 table spoons+ for deep frying
  11. Cooking Soda 1/4 tea spoon
  12. Water as required for the batter

Instructions

  1. Seive besan in a bowl and add rice flour, minced coriander,salt, turmeric,ginger green chilly paste, garam masala, chilly powder to it
  2. Mix it well by adding water and make the batter.The batter must be like dosa batter consistency
  3. Add oil and cooking soda to it,mix it well
  4. Pour the batter in a greased plate or bowl and steam it like mislis for 15 to 20 minutes
  5. Prick a fork and check whether it is cooked properly or not
  6. Once it cools down, cut it into small squares
  7. Deep fry the wadis and serve it hot.
