ABOUT Naatu Kozhi Rasam RECIPE

Its a spicy ,flavorful and comforting soup made with country chicken .

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Naatu Kozhi 1/2 kg
  2. Big onion 1
  3. Tomato ripe 1
  4. Garlic 2 cloves
  5. Red chillies 2
  6. Fennel seeds 1 tbsp
  7. Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
  8. Cumin 1 tsp
  9. Pepper 1 tsp
  10. Ghee 1 tbsp
  11. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  12. Salt as needed
  13. Curry leaves 1 strand
  14. Water 1 liter

Instructions

  1. Wash the country chicken with turmeric powder and salt in water with skin on.
  2. In a kadai add the dried red chillies , pepper , cumin, coriander seeds, curry leaves and roast them.
  3. Grind the roast spices in a blender and keep it aside.
  4. In a pressure pan add ghee and add cumin seeds.
  5. Now add chopped onion , crushed garlic and chopped tomatoes saute briefly.
  6. Add the spice mixture to the onion tomato and saute briefly.
  7. Now add the country chicken , salt and saute for a minute.
  8. Now add water , when it comes to boil put the whistle on and keep in medium flame for 20 minutes .IGNORE THE NUMBER OF WHISTLES.
  9. After 20 minutes switch off the flames wait for the pressure to subside.
  10. Serve hot . Add black pepper powder if you want more spice.
